About Me
I split my time between printmaking and working as a counsellor. I love how those two inspire and effect each other. Themes that show up in the counselling room, like grief, loneliness, love, self care, seeking connection, weave themselves into my art.
Most of my inspiration comes from going for walks in the beautiful and wild Welsh hills, or when I have my nose buried deep in a book. There is endless inspiration to be found around me.
Once an idea has formed in my head, I start drawing a rough sketch. I usually don't have a finished image in mind and often draw straight onto my linos. The picture comes together while I carve, it's a process that allows for changing your mind, for flexibility.
The process of printmaking lets me slow down, be present, collect my thoughts. It's a beautiful craft to get stuck into when everything around us seems to be excelerating.
